I was born before the Internet existed. It literally emerged during my lifetime when I was a teenager. The first website I ever visited was NASA's. I went to see the first Mars rover, Sojourner, crawl across the Martian soil back in 1997.
Internet has completely transformed our lives and the global economy. Moreover, it has done so at breakneck speed. Back in 1997, just 2 percent of humanity was online. Today, two-thirds of the global population is connected.
This represents one of history's most rapid technological adoptions, fundamentally reshaping how people communicate, learn, work and participate in society in just one generation.
