Five charts to start your day
The end of 2023 may have finally seen the end of Covid for the stock market, but what now?
I was trying to remember what I was doing three years ago on Christmas Day. I actually couldn’t remember. I remember going to church on my own and wearing a mask. Singing was forbidden, and only 50 people were allowed in – the rest had to watch from home on the live stream.
Mum wasn’t there. She was still in London, which was under complete lockdown. However, Christmas Day itself was a blur. It was uneventful. We never had any major restrictions in Switzerland, apart from mask-wearing.
We could still go out and enjoy the mountains and the lakes. In fact, I remember skiing with my kids so much that we all got a bit bored of it. It was the only thing we could spend our money on.
But I’m glad it’s all over. I’m also glad to see this chart. I put this together yesterday.
