Economists warn “maganomics” will harm growth

So I have mixed feelings about this. The Financial Times ran a poll among economists on Donald Trump's pledge to put "America First" through tariffs and other protectionist measures. Most economists, according to this poll, are predicting a negative outcome from this pledge on both the US and Europe.
This is despite equity markets booming and bullish investor sentiment following Donald Trump's election victory. The poll quizzed 220 economists across the US, UK and eurozone, and more than half said they expect Trump's so-called "Maganomics" agenda to hurt economic growth, especially if he enacts tariffs of up to 20 per cent on imports and pursues mass deportations of undocumented workers.
