Let's look at the numbers. India leads with 2,651 babies born every hour – that's 18 percent of global births. China follows with 1,016 births per hour, about 7 percent of the total.

Nigeria comes in third with 857 births hourly, followed by Pakistan with 786. Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia each contribute about 500 babies per hour.
